Why do I need to know this stuff?

Arguably the most important skill a therapist has is the ability to facilitate good clinical rapport. One-on-one, this can be achieved easily for the average hypnotherapy practitioner: this is what we do for a living. We know that a good therapeutic relationship can be the key to a successful outcome.

Technology allows us to facilitate interpersonal relationships remotely, and allows us to connect with people we might not otherwise get to spend time with - this is true for personal and professional relationships.

For all the opportunities modern tech brings us, it can become a barrier for good communication if we don't really know what we're doing. This is especially true for those of us working in helping and healing professions - it can get in the way of us doing effective work.

Even if you are not tech-savvy, knowing how to negotiate a video consultation is becoming an essential skill for the modern practitioner. With the right set-up and a little time taken to consider a few small changes about how you conduct your work, the technology will 'disappear' and you can get back to doing what you do best.

Taking a little time to get to know your equipment, and giving consideration to the logistics of video calls will be invaluable preparation; it will enable you to forget about the tech, and focus more on your client.

It doesn't need to be complicated, you just need to know how to make the most out of what you've got.

Thanks for joining us here. We had fun making this course for you, and we hope you get everything you need from it.
