Use Modern Counselling Skills & Neuroplasticity to achieve Life-Changing Results
You know how to practice your modality. But do you know how best to talk to your clients so that they reach their full potential in your work together?
Communication is a fundamental consideration for wellness practitioners in supporting clients on their journey to achieving life-enhancing changes. We have all tried to help someone change their thinking or behaviour, or even a goal, and quickly discovered that simply telling them what to do most often doesn’t work, and leaves us both feeling frustrated and confused.
This course of study helps you learn how to meet your clients where they are at, and how to use your therapeutic relationship to help them more rapidly achieve the change they seek.
By completing this course you will learn some essential counselling skills, and will acquire a good understanding of relevant neuroscience concepts that can help you help the people you work with.
You'll learn and understand the difference between Fast and Slow thinking, and how this relates to your work. By learning a little about polyvagal theory you'll gain an understanding of why sometimes people stay stuck in their patterns, and how to help them get unstuck.
Assessment items require you to demonstrate your understanding of the concepts taught. This Course is recognised Continuing Professional Development for members of the Australian Hypnotherapists' Association. On satisfactory completion of this course and assessment items you will be awarded 10 CPD points
Subjects & Studies
I work as a hypnotherapist in Brisbane, Australia, and derive enormous satisfaction from working with people to create a better quality of life. I have been excited to see the positive, long lasting and meaningful changes that people have been able to achieve.
To facilitate this process, I offer a therapeutic environment that is empathic, non-judgmental and person focused. I am also committed to the principles of the strengths based approach which values respect, collaboration, inclusion, transparency and sharing – principles I consider essential as they reflect a belief in people and their potential.
I am engaged as an educator in a Diploma of Counselling qualification, and I also teach Clinical Hypnotherapy.
